About Me

Red Dress-Horn-Erica.jpg

My name is Erica Guidroz. I am a French horn and Trumpet teacher in the North hills of Pittsburgh, PA. Prior to this position, I taught in Fort Worth ISD in Texas as the Head Band Director at Stripling Middle School for two years and at Young Men's Leadership Academy for two years. At both schools, I helped the bands earn UIL sweepstakes and many individual student awards. Before teaching in Fort Worth ISD, I worked with 6th-12th grade French horn students in the Southeast Texas area. Many of my students placed high in region competitions and received high marks for solo performances.

I received my bachelors degree in Music Education from Lamar University in Beaumont, Texas where I studied under Dr. Scott Deppe and Dr. Robert Culbertson. During my time at Lamar University, I had the privilege of performing with outstanding, world class musicians such as Ronald and Avis Romm and Alllen Vizzutti.

I have also performed with many ensembles including the Lamar University Brass Quintet, the Symphony of Southeast Texas, and the Mansfield Wind Symphony.

Outside of the work place, I enjoy spending my time with family and serving at the church I attend, New Horizon Church in Cranberry Township, PA.
